Pere Pons
Pere Pons Riera (born 20 February 1993) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Girona FC as a central midfielder.
==Football career==
Born in Sant Martí Vell, Girona, Catalonia, Pons began his career on hometown's club Girona FC, and made his debut on 13 September 2012, in a Copa del Rey match against Sporting de Gijón.〔(El torneo del K.O. como bálsamo (The knockout tournament as balm) ); Marca, 13 September 2012 〕 Three days later, he made his first league match, against CD Guadalajara.〔(El Girona le saca los colores a Las Palmas (Girona takes Las Palmas in colors) ); Marca, 16 September 2012 〕 He appeared in nine matches during the 2012–13 campaign, as his side were knocked out in the play-offs.
On 29 January 2014 Pons was loaned to Segunda División B side UE Olot until June.〔(El Girona cede a Pere Pons al Olot hasta el mes de junio (Girona loans Pere Pons to Olot until June) ); Vavel, 29 January 2014 〕 He returned to the ''Albirrojos'' in the summer, and was elected as first-choice by manager Pablo Machín.
